Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before booking or using any services provided by The Art of Clean.

1 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at theartofclean.com and all cleaning services provided by The Art of Clean ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a professional cleaning business based in Downtown, California.

By visiting our website, submitting a quote request, booking a service, or allowing our team to perform cleaning services at your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

Short version: Using our website or booking a service means you agree to these terms. They are designed to be fair and protect both you and us.

2 Our Services

The Art of Clean provides professional cleaning services in San Diego County, California, including but not limited to:

  • Residential cleaning (standard and recurring)
  • Deep cleaning services
  • Window cleaning (interior and exterior)
  • Pressure washing services
  • Extreme cleaning / hoarding cleanup services

All services are subject to availability and our service area. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue any service at our discretion. Service descriptions on our website are for general informational purposes and may vary based on the specific needs of your property.

We are a licensed and insured cleaning company. Our team members are background-checked and trained professionals.

3 Booking and Scheduling

Appointments can be booked through our online booking system at theartofclean.com/online-booking/, by phone at (619) 586-4369, or by email at helptheartofclean@gmail.com.

By submitting a booking, you confirm that:

  • You are the property owner or an authorized representative with permission to schedule cleaning services at the property.
  • The information you provide (address, property size, service type) is accurate and complete.
  • You are at least 18 years of age.

A booking confirmation will be sent to the email address you provide. Your appointment is not confirmed until you receive this confirmation. We reserve the right to contact you to verify booking details before confirming your appointment.

Estimated arrival windows are provided as a courtesy. While we make every effort to arrive on time, we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

4 Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that schedules change. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is as follows:

  • 48+ hours notice: Cancel or reschedule at no charge.
  • 24 to 48 hours notice: A cancellation fee of 25% of the scheduled service cost may apply.
  • Less than 24 hours notice: A cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service cost may apply.
  • Same-day cancellation or no-show: The full service fee may be charged.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to staff illness, severe weather, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and reschedule at no additional cost to you.

Recurring clients: Consistent cancellations on recurring service plans may result in the loss of your preferred time slot or adjustment of your recurring rate.

5 Access to Property

You are responsible for ensuring our team has safe and unobstructed access to your property at the scheduled appointment time. This includes:

  • Providing access codes, keys, or gate codes in advance if you will not be present.
  • Securing or removing pets from areas being cleaned.
  • Ensuring the property is safe for our team to work in (no hazardous materials, biohazards, or unsafe structural conditions).
  • Disclosing any known hazards, fragile items, or areas that require special attention before the service begins.

If our team is unable to access the property at the scheduled time due to circumstances within your control (locked out, no access code provided, etc.), the appointment may be treated as a same-day cancellation and the applicable fee may apply.

We are not responsible for setting or resetting alarm systems. Please ensure alarms are disabled or provide us with the necessary codes in advance.

6 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Cash
  • Check (made payable to The Art of Clean)
  • Electronic payment (Zelle, Venmo, or other methods as agreed)

All quoted prices are estimates based on the information provided at the time of booking. Final pricing may vary if the actual scope of work differs significantly from what was described (e.g., property is larger than stated, or condition requires additional time or supplies).

We will notify you of any pricing adjustments before proceeding with additional work beyond the original scope.

Late payments: Invoices not paid within 7 days of service completion may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. Accounts more than 30 days past due may be referred to a collections agency.

7 Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your cleaning service, please contact us within 24 hours of service completion and we will return to re-clean the area(s) of concern at no additional charge.

To be eligible for a re-clean:

  • You must notify us within 24 hours of service completion.
  • The concern must relate to work that was included in the original service scope.
  • The property must not have been used or occupied in a way that would have caused the area to become dirty again after our team left.

Our satisfaction guarantee covers re-cleaning only. It does not entitle you to a full or partial refund unless we are unable to resolve the issue to a reasonable standard after a re-clean attempt.

8 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Art of Clean shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to our services or your use of our website.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage to your property that was not disclosed prior to service.
  • Damage caused by items that were not properly secured or disclosed as fragile.
  • Loss of items that were not secured or stored appropriately prior to our arrival.
  • Damage resulting from faulty or defective fixtures, fittings, or surfaces.
  • Any loss of income, business, or opportunity arising from our services or any delay in service.

9 Damage and Claims

We take great care when working in your home or property. In the unlikely event that damage occurs during a service, please follow this process:

  1. Report the damage to us within 48 hours of service completion by contacting us at helptheartofclean@gmail.com or (619) 586-4369.
  2. Provide photos of the damage and a description of the item(s) affected.
  3. Do not dispose of or repair the damaged item before we have had the opportunity to assess it.

Damage claims reported after 48 hours may not be accepted, as it becomes difficult to determine whether the damage occurred during our service.

We are fully insured. Verified damage claims will be handled through our insurance provider. We are not responsible for damage to items of extraordinary value (antiques, collectibles, artwork, jewelry) unless their presence and value were disclosed to us in writing prior to service.

10 Client Conduct

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful working environment for our team. We expect all clients to treat our staff with courtesy and professionalism.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate a service and leave the property if any team member is subjected to:

  • Verbal abuse, harassment, or threatening behavior.
  • Physical intimidation or assault.
  • Discrimination of any kind.
  • Unsafe working conditions that were not disclosed prior to the appointment.

In such cases, the full service fee will still be charged. We also reserve the right to refuse future bookings from clients who have engaged in such conduct.

11 Non-Solicitation of Staff

Our team members are a valued part of our business. By using our services, you agree not to directly hire, solicit, or employ any current or former employee or contractor of The Art of Clean for a period of 12 months after their last service at your property.

If you wish to hire a team member directly, please contact us to discuss a referral arrangement. A referral fee of $500 applies for any direct hire made in violation of this clause.

12 Intellectual Property

All content on the theartofclean.com website - including text, images, logos, graphics, page layouts, and service descriptions - is the property of The Art of Clean and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content from our website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted provided you do not remove any copyright or proprietary notices.

13 Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

14 Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration in San Diego County, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

You agree that any claim must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class action proceeding.

15 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. For significant changes, we may notify existing customers by email.
